2.4 Through the door!

As most of you know, version 2.4 released last night. It was welcomed with mixed reviews. Many love it, others despise it! They are as follows!

1. Several new facial features were released, including an Elven Tatoo, Elf Ears, Vampire Teeth, and Hairstyles for both boys and girls.

2. Alerts now show up on the left side of your screen.

3. Emotes are now purchasable. They have released several new emotes, but they cost gold and tokens. The most expensive one is the Glam Rocker at 8100 gold.

4. In some public spaces, they have put in a robot defender. If you have low levels you can go and click it. It will give you 1000 on every attribute. If someone shoots you, it will do no damage. This is the main problem with the 2.4 release. People disagree about not being able to shoot people who harrass them. It should be available for all or for no-one is the opinion of others.

5. New plants were released. They have released an alien breed that will change any plant you have right now.

6. A buy feature was added for small, non re-useable items. If someone sells an item in it you can buy it from your space without having to travel to Mysterio's for food or Magic.

That was a summary of the 2.4 update. Remember to check out the new forums guys. We've put a good amount of work into it and it's no-where near being finished. Look for a few videos and an interview in the next few weeks!

Powerway Pro's!!!!

After months of buying V.I.P and recieving a Hotrod Skateboard, we now have a new item!! We have powerway pro's! We get to drive around on our Segway Scooters hoping not to hit anyone or anything. I've had my insureance handy as of late... only had a few minor accidents though.

The Powerway has stats of 20 speed! It's a great thing to drive around islands with when you're bored.

As you can see from the picture of my wife Emilee Harper, Jerimiyah Typhoon, Carmen Williams the 3rd, and I, the Powerway adds siginificant flavor to the SW stores.

Thanks guys!

Ride up,

Jake

Item of the Month (Elvis the Penguin)

This month Smallworlds was graced with another amazing wearable. We got to meet Elvis the Penguin. He fits in very well with all the snow and cold around smallworlds right now.

Elvis is available at Mysterio's for only 2000 gold. He doesn't have a tail or wings so you can wear another set of wings. My friend and I (Miss Chic the 3rd) posed for a picture with Elvis. (btw It's would be Elvis's 75th birthday today).

The stats on this item are okay, but not the best. Elvis has 10 Nature, 10 Health, and 10 Speed. Having wings and a board/skates is a good idea with Elvis.

Elvis will become rare at the end of this months folks, so buy up! Lets hope that next months item is equally awesome. Have fun players!

Have fun,

Our blog blogged in a blog? That's a whole lot of bloggage!

I am sorry for some inactivity lately but I am glad to announce I have my drivers permit :D Here is a recent update! World of SmallWorlds was blogged in a blog? That’s right ladies and gentlemen we have a whole lot of bloggage going down (I invented that word :P). The official SmallWorlds blog released today 1/27/09 was all about SW fan sites. One of the things I really enjoy about SmallWorlds is how they are pretty interactive in the everyday lives of their citizens. The way they promote players, activities, events and more makes it an unexplainable experience.

I would like to thank all the fans of World of SmallWorlds. I wouldn’t be blogging if I didn’t have people interested in reading and learning new things about SW. You guys are the best and I hope on seeing even more fans come to this blog. Soon we will have one or even multiple new writers thus making this blog an even more enjoyable experience. Some features and all where missed but it’s a new year and my goal in 2009 is to cover most or all of the releases on SmallWorlds. Once again thanks for being fans and I plan on big things in the future.

If you would like to see the official article on the SW Blog here is the link> http://blog.smallworlds.com/2009/01/27/whos-blogging-smallworlds/

Item of the Month, Chinese Dragon. (January 2009)

SmallWorlds did it again. Another magnificent Monthly Collectable. I myself have had a long passion for China. Ever since I was a little kid I wanted to go to China. I just love everything about it, the food, the people, and the country. SmallWorlds really did an amazing job this month. The detail on the dragon is incredible and it is surely a collectable you will want to invest in.

But there is more to the item than just the looks. It’s to celebrate the Chinese New Year. What is the Chinese New Year you ask? The Chinese New Year starts with the New Moon on the first day of the new year and ends 15 days later on a full moon. It’s a time of coming together as a family and thanksgiving. They often hold religious ceremonies in honor of Heaven and Earth. Ceremonies are held to the gods that they believe in, and sacrifices are giving to remember family members who have passed away.

Some statistics etc are posted on the item. It really doesn’t have very many bonuses but it look really sweet. If you walk into a room with the Chinese Dragon Suit you will definitely make an impression. Like the official SW blog said "Many people are attracted to the design and allure of these majestic creatures, which can symbolize empowerment, beauty, wisdom, freedom, or a fire within oneself." The dragon is a symbol to people in China and other countries. So even though it just looks like a dragon to us it can mean so much more to others.

So there is a little history on the Chinese New Year, usually the item of the month has something to do with that month. Last month’s was a snow fox which suited well because it was December there is lots of snow in certain areas. So you can see how each item connects with something in that month. I think it’s great how SmallWorlds can involve many cultural themes into their game. It really helps other people understand other people’s cultures. Great idea SmallWorlds.

Head over to Mysterio's and pick one up, it costs 2,000 Gold. Just so everyone knows you can not buy the Item of the Month in Tokens, they only accept gold. It's the second monthly collectable and will be worth a ton later on just as any Item of the Month so all you collecters might want to make an investment.

Untill the next Item of the Month,

Arcade Game of the Month

.:Asteroids:.
Game: Asteroids
Location: Any action arcade machine
Cost: 50 Tokens
Reward: Same as Blox

Woah sorry it took me so long to get this out, just have a lot of things going on in life. But I am glad to get out the first post of the year. By the way happy new year everyone and I hope your new year’s resolutions work out :P Back on topic! This month’s AGM (Arcade Game of the Month) is “Asteroids”. Another classic game that has been around forever but still a fun game to play. Here is a little info on the game before I go into my detailed lecture XD

Game play: Another basic game “Z” to shoot “Arrow Keys” to move. The objective is to..well..shoot the asteroids :P After a while it can get a little repetitive and honestly it’s not really my game but somehow people seem to get ridiculously high scores. How high you ask? Up in the 400 to 500 thousands. I have no idea how they do that seeing as though I can only make it to about 10 thousand. The game play is fun and addicting but after awhile become boring. But the point of making the "Arcade Game of the Month" is to present games that people might not try or be interested in and spark an interest in people for the games inside of the game. After you shoot a regular asteroid it breaks apart into medium size asteroids, after you shoot it again it breaks up into a bunch of smaller asteroids. Eventually they will break and be gone for the rest of the round. After you have destroyed all the asteroids it will start a new round with more asteroids and ships.

Extra: The basic tactic I know is to shoot them all before they crash into you. The only thing that really becomes a challenge is when the alien asteroid ship guys come out and shoot at you. It can get really aggravating but they had to make up for the lack of challenge. By killing these other asteroid ships you get a lot of extra points thus increasing your score dramatically. The higher the lever you make it to the more often the ships apear and try to blow you up. So along with great victory also comes great challenge. I myself just fly around and spray a constant barrage of fire in random circles and see how long I survive XD

Why play it? Like Blox this is a great way to make some extra tokens, that is if you can beat the regular top three scores around 400 to 500 thousand. Besides making some extra mula it's a great way to burn some time and let off some stress. It might not be every ones game but you will never know if you like it if you don’t try it.

So go out and try a new game. You might find one you really like and become a pro at it. You never know till you try. Untill next month,

World of SmallWorlds Needs You!

Well in my never ending quest to expand into a more of a fan site I decided to create a forum! The forum is called "SmallWorlds Community". After about a week of trying to find ad-free decent forum host I finally found it. Myself and Mandy Murder have been hard at work the last few days adding graphics, forums and more! So come be apart of the community for all SmallWorlds Fans!

WARNING right now it may have some flaws, but trust me I have tons of experience and mine and Mandy's graphics skills are off the hook. :P

Over the next week or so I will be working on adding the forums and graphics. We are looking to improve it in anway we can so that's why we are opening it up to all the blog fans first. I hope you become an active contributor to the improvement of this forum.

We have a special group just for our pre-release members. It's called V.I.P just like on the game. Not everyone will get this rank and color but if you are an active contributer and member on the forums your chances are good :P

We plan on big things for SmallWorlds community and I am glad everyone can contribute to this amazing fan site to be. :P
The link for this forum in progress is- http://www.smallworldscommunity.forumotion.net

Right now it has the host after the forum name. This will be changed as the forum continues to grow. Enjoy!

Jake Snipes Gets Married?!?!?!

Is it true? Jake Snipes is now married? Yes! Indeed it is very true. I myself used to think that getting married on games was stupid, but it isn’t that bad. It makes the game more fun and interesting and you also have someone who is always there for you.

Who did I marry you ask? Only the most amazing and beautiful girl on the entire game. Her name is KellyxcoreXxo. It’s a classic case of love at first sight I guess you could say. We met each other at some ones space and then hopped around to help people with missions. I could tell she was pretty cool just by her actions. Always wanting to help other people and be a great friend for everyone.

December 20, 2008 marks the date we said “I do”. Even with our quick decision to get married the same night I asked her to marry me we had the room packed. It took awhile to get everyone seated and it was a mission place thus we had other people pondering around.
The funniest part would be when a random girl I didn’t even know started to dance in front of me as I waited for my bride to walk down the aisle. My friends were shouting it was for my bachelor party which really made me laugh. But finally everyone was seated and the music began to play as Kelly walked down the aisle slowly.

She walked down the aisle as I wait patiently and nervously shaking and yet full of excitement. David (Our pastor who married us) started the introduction and thanked everyone for coming. Then he went into our vows and then the magic word came from both of us “I do”. That was the magic moment of the whole ceremony. Our first kiss took place.
After our kiss we wrapped up our ceremony and headed for the party! Swagger Island was where our reception took place and it was full of fun, dancing, and food.
I hope you enjoyed reading about our wedding and if you were present at the time I thank you for coming. I know it was on short notice and I know a lot of our friends would have came if they had known.

Yours Truly,
Mr and Mrs Snipes.

Christmas Update! New items, missions and more!

Let me start off by saying Merry Christmas! This is our first Christmas here at World of SmallWords. The complaints about the update being late are now silenced as the SmallWorlds Staff released an incredible and unforgettable update. Let’s get started there is a lot to cover so hang in there while we go on our Christmas journey.

The official Christmas update was released and there are tons of great items, missions, and more. If you are a collector of items or collectables I strongly suggest you head off to the “Featured Place” called “Merry Xmas” found in the “Places” option. Upon entering the room Christmas music is playing, lights are flashing, and you can smell freshly prepared food in the air.

There are numerous items so I will post some pictures of the main items and a list of the new items available along with the items prices.

New Item List, (G=Gold, T=Tokens)

Random items:
-Mistletoe (5 G, 50 T)
-Super Snowball (10 G, 100 T)
-Personal Single Firework (5 G, 50 T)

Space Items, (Your place, home etc.)
-Christmas Tree (40G, 400T)
-Xmas Wall Lights (20G, 200T)
-Deluxe Christmas Tree (80G, not available in tokens)

Food Items,
-Root Bear/Eggnog? (3G, 30T)
-Tree, Star, and Candy Cain Xmas Cookies (3G, 30T)
-Plum Pudding (4G, 40T)
-Grape Juice (3G, 30T)
-Roast Chicken (3G, 30T)
-Steak Dinner (3G, 30T)
-Cup Cake (3G, 30T)

Those are most of the items. If I missed any it’s because I didn’t add them or I didn’t see them. :P Some other cool things that SmallWorlds added was that all the doors will automatically have reefs on them and all fireplaces will automatically have stockings. I hope I get some candy in my stocking. Enjoy :D

A great new feature they released with this update was the ability to send presents to your friends. To do this you go to your “Inventory” then click the item you wish to give to them. Then “Give item to a friend” then on the bottom of that screen it has the option of what color and size of the box you want it in. Also it give you the option to set a date when the person receiving it can open the gift. It’s an extravagant idea and it is a very unique feature that will make this Christmas in SmallWorlds even more special. So why not brighten up your friend’s day and give them a gift this holiday season?

I didn’t even catch this till now. There is a present from Santa SmallWorlds in my inventory? I am guessing everyone on SmallWorlds received one. The real question is what’s in it? It is not able to be opened till the 25th of December. Could it be the long so called promised “Elf” Hat people are raving about? Not sure but it’s really exiting trying to guess what’s in it.

Some missions that are out are “Naughty or Nice” mission. I really enjoyed it but the only glitch was that the door was in a corner and it’s required for multiple parts of the mission. It was really blocked and hard to get to the door. So many people flooded the place it was insane! I suggest you do it it’s a well planned well organized quest and it’s really a lot of fun. :P

I am not sure if SmallWorlds brings back some of the same items every year or not but a few games I know do not. So if you’re looking to have some rare items now would be a good time to stock up. I think I purchased around 10 of everything and I don’t plan on getting rid of them. I guess I could be considered a collector :P

The one and only thing that disappointed me a little was how the Christmas lights are so small..It takes about 10 of them just to fill one side of my small default space. However the cheaper price makes up for it a little bit but still is frustrating trying to align 40 lights around all your walls.

So go head down to “Merry Xmas” you might find me drinking some Eggnog and eating some cookies (Ya for calories). Maybe buy a Christmas Tree and crank up the Christmas tunes and have a party with all your friends. I am sorry if this article isn't super long but I want to enjoy this as much as you do. Merry Christmas to you all and enjoy the holiday update while it lasts.

I will be adding more photos and info over the next few days. Just wanted to get this out :P

Me and Snuffles enjoying eggnog and pretty lights :P
