World of SmallWorlds Needs You!

Well in my never ending quest to expand into a more of a fan site I decided to create a forum! The forum is called "SmallWorlds Community". After about a week of trying to find ad-free decent forum host I finally found it. Myself and Mandy Murder have been hard at work the last few days adding graphics, forums and more! So come be apart of the community for all SmallWorlds Fans!

WARNING right now it may have some flaws, but trust me I have tons of experience and mine and Mandy's graphics skills are off the hook. :P

Over the next week or so I will be working on adding the forums and graphics. We are looking to improve it in anway we can so that's why we are opening it up to all the blog fans first. I hope you become an active contributor to the improvement of this forum.

We have a special group just for our pre-release members. It's called V.I.P just like on the game. Not everyone will get this rank and color but if you are an active contributer and member on the forums your chances are good :P

We plan on big things for SmallWorlds community and I am glad everyone can contribute to this amazing fan site to be. :P
The link for this forum in progress is- http://www.smallworldscommunity.forumotion.net

Right now it has the host after the forum name. This will be changed as the forum continues to grow. Enjoy!

Jake Snipes Gets Married?!?!?!

Is it true? Jake Snipes is now married? Yes! Indeed it is very true. I myself used to think that getting married on games was stupid, but it isn’t that bad. It makes the game more fun and interesting and you also have someone who is always there for you.

Who did I marry you ask? Only the most amazing and beautiful girl on the entire game. Her name is KellyxcoreXxo. It’s a classic case of love at first sight I guess you could say. We met each other at some ones space and then hopped around to help people with missions. I could tell she was pretty cool just by her actions. Always wanting to help other people and be a great friend for everyone.

December 20, 2008 marks the date we said “I do”. Even with our quick decision to get married the same night I asked her to marry me we had the room packed. It took awhile to get everyone seated and it was a mission place thus we had other people pondering around.
The funniest part would be when a random girl I didn’t even know started to dance in front of me as I waited for my bride to walk down the aisle. My friends were shouting it was for my bachelor party which really made me laugh. But finally everyone was seated and the music began to play as Kelly walked down the aisle slowly.

She walked down the aisle as I wait patiently and nervously shaking and yet full of excitement. David (Our pastor who married us) started the introduction and thanked everyone for coming. Then he went into our vows and then the magic word came from both of us “I do”. That was the magic moment of the whole ceremony. Our first kiss took place.
After our kiss we wrapped up our ceremony and headed for the party! Swagger Island was where our reception took place and it was full of fun, dancing, and food.
I hope you enjoyed reading about our wedding and if you were present at the time I thank you for coming. I know it was on short notice and I know a lot of our friends would have came if they had known.

Yours Truly,
Mr and Mrs Snipes.

Christmas Update! New items, missions and more!

Let me start off by saying Merry Christmas! This is our first Christmas here at World of SmallWords. The complaints about the update being late are now silenced as the SmallWorlds Staff released an incredible and unforgettable update. Let’s get started there is a lot to cover so hang in there while we go on our Christmas journey.

The official Christmas update was released and there are tons of great items, missions, and more. If you are a collector of items or collectables I strongly suggest you head off to the “Featured Place” called “Merry Xmas” found in the “Places” option. Upon entering the room Christmas music is playing, lights are flashing, and you can smell freshly prepared food in the air.

There are numerous items so I will post some pictures of the main items and a list of the new items available along with the items prices.

New Item List, (G=Gold, T=Tokens)

Random items:
-Mistletoe (5 G, 50 T)
-Super Snowball (10 G, 100 T)
-Personal Single Firework (5 G, 50 T)

Space Items, (Your place, home etc.)
-Christmas Tree (40G, 400T)
-Xmas Wall Lights (20G, 200T)
-Deluxe Christmas Tree (80G, not available in tokens)

Food Items,
-Root Bear/Eggnog? (3G, 30T)
-Tree, Star, and Candy Cain Xmas Cookies (3G, 30T)
-Plum Pudding (4G, 40T)
-Grape Juice (3G, 30T)
-Roast Chicken (3G, 30T)
-Steak Dinner (3G, 30T)
-Cup Cake (3G, 30T)

Those are most of the items. If I missed any it’s because I didn’t add them or I didn’t see them. :P Some other cool things that SmallWorlds added was that all the doors will automatically have reefs on them and all fireplaces will automatically have stockings. I hope I get some candy in my stocking. Enjoy :D

A great new feature they released with this update was the ability to send presents to your friends. To do this you go to your “Inventory” then click the item you wish to give to them. Then “Give item to a friend” then on the bottom of that screen it has the option of what color and size of the box you want it in. Also it give you the option to set a date when the person receiving it can open the gift. It’s an extravagant idea and it is a very unique feature that will make this Christmas in SmallWorlds even more special. So why not brighten up your friend’s day and give them a gift this holiday season?

I didn’t even catch this till now. There is a present from Santa SmallWorlds in my inventory? I am guessing everyone on SmallWorlds received one. The real question is what’s in it? It is not able to be opened till the 25th of December. Could it be the long so called promised “Elf” Hat people are raving about? Not sure but it’s really exiting trying to guess what’s in it.

Some missions that are out are “Naughty or Nice” mission. I really enjoyed it but the only glitch was that the door was in a corner and it’s required for multiple parts of the mission. It was really blocked and hard to get to the door. So many people flooded the place it was insane! I suggest you do it it’s a well planned well organized quest and it’s really a lot of fun. :P

I am not sure if SmallWorlds brings back some of the same items every year or not but a few games I know do not. So if you’re looking to have some rare items now would be a good time to stock up. I think I purchased around 10 of everything and I don’t plan on getting rid of them. I guess I could be considered a collector :P

The one and only thing that disappointed me a little was how the Christmas lights are so small..It takes about 10 of them just to fill one side of my small default space. However the cheaper price makes up for it a little bit but still is frustrating trying to align 40 lights around all your walls.

So go head down to “Merry Xmas” you might find me drinking some Eggnog and eating some cookies (Ya for calories). Maybe buy a Christmas Tree and crank up the Christmas tunes and have a party with all your friends. I am sorry if this article isn't super long but I want to enjoy this as much as you do. Merry Christmas to you all and enjoy the holiday update while it lasts.

I will be adding more photos and info over the next few days. Just wanted to get this out :P

Me and Snuffles enjoying eggnog and pretty lights :P

Blog Features

Well I thought I would make a post about some blog features for all World of SmallWorlds fans. To start off I would like to point the attention to the new and improved logo! I spent about a half hour on it and I think it really turned out amazing. It flows well with the blog.

I know I have some great fans out there and I would love to hear how you liked certain articles etc. At the bottom of each article I post there is a comment option on the bottom right. If you want to leave me a note on how you liked the certain article or if it needs improvements I would greatly appreciate it. The more comments etc the more this blog will grow.

Their are multiple ways you can be informed of new articles or updates. One way is to “Subscribe” to my blog. This feature is available at the bottom right hand side of the blog next to all the gadgets and what not. You also may “Follow” this blog which basically means you’re a fan and you will be informed of updates. Both are great ways to be more involved and help this place grow. This way you don't have to check back here all the time and not find new articles.

Last but not least. At the bottom of each article the article will be labeled with something. For example this post is labeled with "Announcements" if you click on that it will bring up all the posts labled with "Announcements" that way it's easier to find articles.

The only way that this great blog can get out to the world is if other people know about it. If you get a chance and want to support the blog just ask your friends if they want to take a look at it.
If you have any comments, suggestions, complaints or more just leave a comment for me on this article. I appreciate all your support and I am glad that I started this blog :P

Citizen Highlight

.:Spectacular Artist:.
Today I come to my blog to write about an amazing artist I discovered who deserves to be recognized. I am sure you have seen her around on the forums or even have visited her art gallery in game. Her amazing techniques and breath taking paintings steal the spotlight from any show. Who is this person you ask yourselves? This talented artist I would like to recognize is Peggo Beta. She has been a member of SW since June of 2008 and has a passion for art and painting. If you haven’t seen any of her paintings then I strongly suggest you go to her gallery called “Peggo’s Art Gallery” or her shared gallery called “P&R Art Gallery”.

When I first entered her gallery I thought wow she just bought some picture frames and added a pictures to them big deal, then my common sense kicked in. I noticed they were graffiti boards. I kept walking towards the paintings in awe as the fascinating paintings glowed with perfection. I guess you could say I am an art fan. Maybe I don’t know the names of all the famous painters or who were the best crafters of their day but an art fan can be someone who admires paintings. I plan on collecting SW paintings and starting a museum. But enough about me :P Once I saw the paintings I knew that I needed to speak with the creator. So I pursued an interview and Peggo was happy to accept my offer.

(Start of interview)
Q=Question
A=Answer

Q: Thank you Peggo for having an interview with me today I really appreciate it.
A: Thank you for asking.

Q: What inspired you to start painting on SmallWorlds?
A: I couldn't resist the challenge of the graffiti wall.

Q: What sets you apart from other SmallWorlds artists?
A: That’s for others to decide. But I do try to squeeze every last drop of paint out of the program.

Q: How do you choose what you want to paint?
A: At first I painted whenever I was around my desk. Then when I got some mastery over the paint program I tried doing images I liked from photos.

Q: What was your favorite painting you created and why?
A: I'm fond of Heavenly Peace...the sleeping baby. It reminds me of Reebee's sculpted babies.

Q: What would you say to artists who want to improve there skills?
A:Keep practicing! Try experimenting, and don't be afraid if it doesn't look right at first. My Undo button is used a lot. :)

Q: Have any special paintings coming out?
A: I have a couple of Winter themed paintings I'm just finishing up. There are so many great suggestions in my guest books, it may take a while to get to them all.

Q: Thanks for your time and I am a big fan of your work.
A: Thank you for your interest in my work.

(End of interview)

Now you have it, the words of an inspirational artist. I really appreciated her giving me the time to have an interview. I am not much of a professional but like Peggo said “Keep practicing!” I couldn’t have said it better. With a little practice and elbow grease or should I say elbow paint, anything is possible. That’s the theme I like to keep on my blog that anything is possible. Yes it’s just a game you may say but being inspired on here can inspire you in the real world.

Peggo is just one of the amazing citizens pondering around SmallWorlds. There are artists, gamers, explorers and more! So many people that have talent, I plan on writing about at least one person a month. I know I know everything is almost monthly but that way when you want to go back and look at stories all you have to do is click on that month and all the articles will be in order.

On a quick note here Peggo also has paintings for sale if you would like to have one of your very own. It will run you about 175,000 to 200,000 tokens, she plans on moving to selling them in Gold is it costs less for peopel. Stop right there..I know what you are thinking..It’s too much. That’s not the case. She spends lots of time and long learned and practiced skill to make such incredible paintings. She can’t spend 24/7 a day painting for a game. This way it’s more exclusive to own one and it’s something even I myself am preparing to purchase one of. After you see her paintings you will want to save up for one also :P

So go have some fun and try to paint a nice painting for your space or even as a gift for your all your friends at Christmas. Be sure to check out "Peggo's Art Gallery" and just remember that even if you get frustrated painting never give up and don't be afraid to redo things to make them look right.

Featured Arcade Game of the Month! (Blox)

.:BLOX:.
Games, games, and more games so many games to play so little time. I myself am a big time gamer, I enjoy playing MMOG’s and action games on counsels like the Xbox360 and the PS3. But I wanted to incorporate gaming into SmallWorlds. What better way to do that than to feature a SmallWorlds arcade game once a month and write up a review on the game in order to spark the interest of my fellow SmallWorld citizens. If you would like to suggest a game of the month or have an idea to improve this article send me a message in game or leave a comment. ;)

This month I would like to shine the spotlight on a classic game with a new name. The featured game of the month is “Blox”. You may recall it looking similar to Tetris, well it is! It has the same game play, and the buttons and whistles but it is programmed to run with the SW software. Not only is this a classic game and overly addictive but SW offers a daily tournament that takes the top 3 scores and splits out a large sum of Tokens. They are split among the top three as follows,

The game play: Well what can I say? The game play is what is expected of a game of Tetris. Increasing speed depending on the level you excel makes it even more intense. I would say once you hit around 1,000 points or so you definitely notice a jump of speed. But if you think that is hard then you have a real surprise coming when it hits around 1,700 points it becomes almost impossibly fast, but anything is possible.

Tactics: There is a way to slow it down per say. As you can notice this isn’t the most complicated game in the world so the tactics themselves will not be that complicated either. There is a “Pause” button on the right side while you are playing the game. I always have my mouse hovering over that button the entire game. As the levels get harder and if you’re a little backed up on lines then it never hurts to press pause. Give yourself some time to decide where to put each one. The game isn't going to strike you down with lighting for giving yourself some time to think. :P After awhile the game will almost become second nature to you. You will move blox without even thinking.

Why play it? After some practice and skill building you will be a pro at Blox in no time. It might not be very entertaining after you have played it hundreds of times (figure of speech) but it’s a great way to make tokens. The average top score is around 1,700 give or take, so it cand be hard to beat on certain days and others not so hard. But you can always go for second or third. As you can see the rewards in the picture I posted above, a few thousand tokens never hurt anyone, so go give it a try and see what you can do.

Game Info: Costs 50 Tokens per day to participate in the tournament. Can be found in any "Action" arcade machine.

Go out and try playing Blox, you could be the winner of the next daily tournament! And have some pizza because pizza is good..yummm. :P

Item of the Month, Snow Fox Suit. (December 2008)

.:December Item of the Month:.
It’s a major leap for SmallWorlds as they released the first Item of The Month. All of SmallWorlds Citizens were anticipating the arrival this major release but no one knew what it would be. This month’s Item was the Snow Fox Suit, and it looks amazing I might add. Very fitting for the time of the year and you will stand out if you show up to a party wearing this dazzling outfit.

This item is available at Mysterio’s and only costs 2,000 gold. It’s a reasonable price and any Item of the Month is considered a “Collectable and Rare” so it’s a great investment now hopefully you can re-sell it in the future to gain a nice profit. There is one Item of the Month each month so be on the look out! For those of you who have not seen it yet or have no idea what i am talking about I had my friend help me take a photo of what the item looks like and what it looks like after you put it on. Thanks to her for helping me out on that Rose.

But that’s not all! Besides the cool look and fancy blue glow and the crowd of people trying to get one, there is more to it than just the looks and it being the first released Item of the Month. It also has some stats that I thought everyone might be interested in. Here is a picture of the stats.
Stats, Overall I love the Item of the Month and I can’t wait to see the new and exciting items that will be coming up in the later months. The theme of the item in my guess will match the month of the year. The SmallWorlds team is very creative and it will be fun to see what they can come up with. I will make sure I post about every item of the month and I will keep the information flowing. Until then have fun playing SmallWorlds and go buy a Snow Fox Suit! :P
